Website Information: Steps For Building a Website



There are several steps you can follow when deciding to build a web site.

  1. Reason

    First, determine why you want a web site. What is your purpose? Do you want to advertise, promote, and build up your business? Do you want to give information about yourself? Maybe you want to inform people about a special cause. You might want to showcase your pictures to show your family and friends. Do you want a special site for your spouse, children, grandchildren, friend, or special pet? These are just a few reasons for building a website.


  2. Content

    After determining the reason, you can next consider what you want to put on the web site pages. The content can consist of text information, images, photographs, or a combination of any of the previous three.


  3. Color Scheme

    The colors you choose should reflect your personality and preferences. The type of web site you want should also be a determining factor when choosing colors.



    4. Now that you have decided on your content and reason, let's pick out some colors you would like. Click on Webset Samples.




  4. Website Design

    The layout or design of your website can range from very simple to complex. You can have your navigation buttons on the top, left, or bottom. Your background can be one color or it can have several layers tiled on top of each other. The sample web sets I have provided are two layers. This is called a double tile background. I sometimes like to use three tiles. On my educational website, I often used three tiles. You can see this website if you click on the Websites button at the bottom of this page and then click on #1.
